Carlos DA CRUZ - patron of the 2019 Tour!

"A benchmark junior event, the Ain Bugey Valromey-Tour, with its multi-faceted course, will once again enable the emergence of tomorrow's talents and champions. This international event is a benchmark race for juniors wishing to take a step forward and showcase their talents with a view to a future with the professionals. Success in this category is almost a prerequisite for building a name, a record and a reputation, and this latest edition of the Ain Bugey Valromey-Tour, which brings together the best European teams, is an opportunity to demonstrate consistency on all terrains. Above all, this new edition is the joint success of a team of enthusiasts and volunteers, whom I would like to thank as a former participant in the 1993 Tour du Valromey and as sponsor of the current event. This event is an eye-opener for young people, giving them a taste for effort, while putting them in the situation of a professional race. As far as I'm concerned, it's given me the desire to pursue a great career. However, the most beautiful recognition will undoubtedly be the spectacle offered by the riders over these 4 days of racing. I'd like to wish all the participants every success, and may the best man win, while respecting the rules".
